About me

Mary Elliott Child Therapist

Integrative means I combine different psychotherapeutic theories in my work, including psychoanalytic, attachment, humanistic and systemic.

spacer I am a UKCP registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist. I have worked as a therapist offering therapy to children, young people and their families for over 10 years.

I trained as an Integrative Child Psychotherapist at the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education and have an MA Integrative Child Psychotherapy (with Distinction).
Integrative means I combine different psychotherapeutic theories in my work, including psychoanalytic, attachment, humanistic and systemic.

In therapy sessions, what this means for you and your child, is empathic, attuned, playful and sensitive therapy sessions. I use my experience and knowledge to support a process of exploration, change and growth, and a reduction in distress and difficult to manage feelings and connected behaviour. I use play and the creative arts alongside talking to help clients fully express themselves.

As an experienced therapist I offer supervision, consultation and training to parents, teachers, foster carers, social workers and other professionals.
